When I was contemplating the Panthere De Cartier woman, I envisaged a fearlessness, an independence, a determination – she’s bright, bold, she knows who she is and what she stands for, ,just like many of the inspiring women in my life (my mother especially, who truly embodies the idea of confidence). These characteristics are the foundation for how I define beauty and femininity.

When I was younger, every year for my birthday my parents would ask me what I wanted to do, and every year I would excitedly declare that we had to go to the beach. It was only a sometimes event, but I just lived for the water (what can I say, I’m an Aquarius). Fast forward to 11 years old and my family packed up our bags and moved to the Central Coast in New South Wales, a sleepy seaside town with beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Being able to grow up as a teenager by the ocean was honestly a dream come true. One of the things I always wanted to learn was to sail, but it always seemed so out of reach.

What would I do when it came to creating a story for the fearless Pathere De Cartier Woman? Well, sailing was the first ideas that came to mind. I realise it might seem like only a photographic fantasy, but spending the day on the yacht out on the water brought back a lot of those nostalgic memories growing up from having to wait all year to see the ocean.

For me, what’s more inspiring than the modern day woman taking a moment to pursue new dreams and challenges? It’s about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to experience the unknown. A favourite quote of mine has always been ‘The curse of comfort, plagues the artistic mind’. Great things happen when you take that leap.

To be bold, to be fearless, to be iconic, to be unforgettable.

To be you, in your own time.

I’ll be me, in my time.
